Due to my Cybils duties, I haven&#8217;t been able to open them until recently. One of them is by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.poetryfoundation.org\/archive\/poet.html?id=3753\"><strong>Galway Kinnell<\/strong><\/a>, and I&#8217;m loving it. So I thought I&#8217;d pay my neighbor&#8217;s good deed forward, and share him with you all.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>&#8220;The Correspondence-School Instructor Says Goodbye to His Poetry Students&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Goodbye, lady in Bangor, who sent me<br \/>\nsnapshots of yourself, after definitely hinting<br \/>\nyou were beautiful; goodbye,<br \/>\nMiami Beach urologist, who enclosed plain<br \/>\nbrown envelopes for the return of your very<br \/>\n\u201cClinical Sonnets\u201d; goodbye, manufacturer<br \/>\nof brassieres on the Coast, whose eclogues<br \/>\ngive the fullest treatment in literature yet<br \/>\nto the sagging breast motif; goodbye, you in San Quentin,<br \/>\nwho wrote, \u201cBeing German my hero is Hitler,\u201d<br \/>\ninstead of \u201cSincerely yours,\u201d at the end of long,<br \/>\nneat-scripted letters extolling the Pre-Raphaelites:<\/p>\n<p>I swear to you, it was just my way<br \/>\nof cheering myself up, as I licked<br \/>\nthe stamped, self-addressed envelopes,<br \/>\nthe game I had of trying to guess<br \/>\nwhich one of you, this time,<br \/>\nhad poisoned his glue.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.poetryfoundation.org\/archive\/poem.html?id=19549\"><strong>Click here<\/strong><\/a> to read the rest of the poem.
