The 7-Imp love for this anthology has been fierce &#8212; <a href=\"http:\/\/blaine.org\/sevenimpossiblethings\/?p=706\"><strong>here&#8217;s<\/strong><\/a> a review, and here&#8217;s our <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blaine.org\/sevenimpossiblethings\/?p=1288\"><strong>interview with Polly Dunbar<\/strong><\/a><\/strong> (not to mention I&#8217;ve run my mouth about this book in many other posts here, and I&#8217;ve bought a copy for each and every baby shower I&#8217;ve attended since the book was released. It&#8217;s the perfect gift for a wee newborn, the best to-grow-with-them gift). <\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s one of my favorite poems from the book, Jane&#8217;s &#8220;Recipe for Green&#8221;: <!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Take one seed,<br \/>\nTake one plot<br \/>\nOf deep, dark earth.<br \/>\n(But not a lot.)<br \/>\nDig a bit,<br \/>\nLeave a while.<br \/>\n(More than a minute,<br \/>\nLess than a mile.)<br \/>\nTake some rain,<br \/>\nTake some sun;<br \/>\nNow your work is<br \/>\nAlmost done,<br \/>\nUp from under,<br \/>\nOut from in,<br \/>\nLook out,<br \/>\nSprout,<br \/>\nTime to<br \/>\nBegin.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>My children drop EVERYthing when I whip this book out.
