Patrick Lewis<\/a><\/strong>, who&#8212;as you can see here&#8212;enjoys a little bubble gum with his breakfast. <\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Though the evidence seems convincing\u2014the numbers don&#8217;t lie\u2014that children&#8217;s poetry has seen more robust days,&#8221; Pat told me, &#8220;it is difficult to credit that when one is met at every venue with such overwhelming affection and rapt attention.
