Together we will sing up the stars.<br \/>Yes, we will sing up the moon.&#8221;<\/em><\/center><br \/>\n<BR>&nbsp;<BR><br \/>\nThis morning over at <em>Kirkus<\/em>, I&#8217;ve got a Q &#038; A with author <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.macbarnett.com\/\">Mac Barnett<\/a><\/strong>, whose early Spring picture book, <em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.indiebound.org\/book\/9780061953385\/mac-barnett\/extra-yarn\">Extra Yarn<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (Balzer + Bray), illustrated by <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blaine.org\/sevenimpossiblethings\/?p=2189\">Jon Klassen<\/a><\/strong>, was just awarded the 2012 Boston Globe-Horn Book Award in the Picture Book category. That link is <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kirkusreviews.com\/blog\/childrens\/extra-yarn-now-boston-globe-horn-book-award\/\">here<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>Mac says something over there about picture books, about &#8220;shaggy stories,&#8221; that I like so much that I might just hug his neck if I ever meet him. <\/p>\n<p>And tomorrow, I&#8217;ll have a chat with illustrator <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blaine.org\/sevenimpossiblethings\/?p=1829\">Yuyi Morales<\/a><\/strong>. <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/web.mac.com\/anovesky\/Site\/about.html\">Amy Novesky&#8217;s<\/a><\/strong> <em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.indiebound.org\/book\/9780152054205\">Georgia in Hawaii<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (Harcourt), which Yuyi illustrated, was also named a Boston Globe-Horn Book Nonfiction Honor Book just a few weeks ago.
