They come from the mind and paintbrush of the staggeringly talented <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blaine.org\/sevenimpossiblethings\/?p=1478\">David Ezra Stein<\/a><\/strong>. Last week at <em>Kirkus<\/em>, I wrote about his newest picture book, <em>Because Amelia Smiled<\/em> (Candlewick, September 2012). That column is <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.kirkusreviews.com\/blog\/childrens\/infectious-joy-david-ezra-steins-because-amelia-sm\/\">here<\/a><\/strong>, if you missed it. What I wrote, partly, is that this book made me smile, it even made me get all misty-eyed from happiness, it darn well made me glad to be alive, and it made me want to stand on the corner and hand a copy to everyone I see. Well, over at the the Book Blog Network today, I write about <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.michaelianblack.net\/\">Michael Ian Black&#8217;s<\/a><\/strong> <em>I&#8217;m Bored<\/em>, illustrated by <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/debbieohi.com\/\">Debbie Ridpath Ohi<\/a><\/strong>. So funny, this book about ennui (which is, of course, really about so much more).
