I had the latter lined up for today, but it didn&#8217;t quite work out in time. This author\/illustrator will, most likely, visit next week instead, which is all good and a-okay and all that. I&#8217;m easy like Sunday morning (as I told her &#8212; and you&#8217;re welcome for that Commodores song now on your brain radio). <\/p>\n<p>Know what I have for you today? I&#8217;ll be ever-so brief: <!--more-->  <\/p>\n<p>Remember when <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.susansorrellhill.com\/Susan_Sorrell_Hill\/Susan_Sorrell_Hill.html\">Susan Sorrell Hill<\/a><\/strong> visited <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blaine.org\/sevenimpossiblethings\/?p=2417\">back in September<\/a><\/strong>? Soon after that visit, she created a Mad Tea Party image, which I&#8217;ll be posting some time soon in one of the headers of a 7-Imp page. (It&#8217;s <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.etsy.com\/listing\/116395218\/mad-tea-party-alice-in-wonderland\">here<\/a><\/strong> at her Etsy shop, if anyone is interested, by chance.) <\/p>\n<p>And look, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/slayground.livejournal.com\/\">Little Willow<\/a><\/strong>, it&#8217;s another brunette Alice!<\/p>\n<p>And that&#8217;s it. See? New kickers are always welcome. <\/p>\n<p><center><font size=3><strong>* * * Jules&#8217; Kicks * * *<\/strong><\/font><br \/><\/center><\/p>\n<p><font size=4><strong>1)<\/strong><\/font> Pith. <\/p>\n<p><font size=4><strong>2)<\/strong><\/font> As I&#8217;m typing, I&#8217;m listening to <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.holidays-rule.com\/\">this<\/a><\/strong>, which includes Chris Thile&#8217;s wonderful voice and Andrew Bird and The Shins and Rufus and Paul McCartney and a really gorgeous rendition of &#8220;I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day&#8221; by The Civil Wars and much, much more. Between this CD and this little guy, which I ordered from <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.etsy.com\/shop\/AlkeldaDolls\">Alkelda Dolls<\/a><\/strong> &#8230; <\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blaine.org\/jules\/santa1.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>&#8230;I&#8217;m warming up to the holidays.  <\/p>\n<p><font size=4><strong>3)<\/strong><\/font> The girls and I just now&#8212;between kicks 2 and 3&#8212;had to stop and dance around to &#8220;Sleigh Ride.&#8221; The seven-year-old seems to come naturally to jazz hands. It&#8217;s slightly alarming her abundant use of them. Also, I just did a somersault and re-discovered the fact that I&#8217;m 40. The girls found this HYSTERICAL.<\/p>\n<p><font size=4><strong>4)<\/strong><\/font> I haven&#8217;t yet watched <em>all<\/em> of <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hachettebookgroup.com\/features\/littlebrown\/feature-vacancy.html\">this interview<\/a><\/strong> by <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.annpatchett.com\/\">Ann Patchett<\/a><\/strong> with <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jkrowling.com\/\">J.K. Rowling<\/a><\/strong>, but I did catch the moment right around minute 5:15, where Ann gets a bit verklempt and thanks Rowling for what her series has done for children and books and reading and bookstores and such. <\/p>\n<p><font size=4><strong>5)<\/strong><\/font> Really good food and drinks and actual Nashville honky tonk in the company of good friends on Friday night. <\/p>\n<p><font size=4><strong>6)<\/strong><\/font> Thoughtful surprises in the mail from my thoughtful friends. <\/p>\n<p><font size=4><strong>7)<\/strong><\/font> Did you all take in all the goodness from <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/picturebookmonth.com\/\">Picture Book Month<\/a><\/strong>? <em>The Horn Book<\/em> <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.hbook.com\/2012\/11\/blogs\/out-of-the-box\/picture-book-month-coverage-round-up\/\">surely delivered, too<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p><font size=4><strong>TWO NOTES:<\/strong><\/font><\/p>\n<p>Did you all see the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2012\/12\/02\/books\/review\/notable-childrens-books-of-2012.html?smid=fb-share\"><em>New York Times&#8217;<\/em> Notable Children&#8217;s Books of 2012<\/a><\/strong>? (There&#8217;s a certain book about <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blaine.org\/sevenimpossiblethings\/?p=2330\">dragons and tacos<\/a><\/strong> on that list, which makes me happy to see. Hear! Hear! to funny books getting such, er, notable attention!) <\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s time this year for <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.studiojjk.com\/\">Jarrett J.
