Harrington&#8217;s<\/a><\/strong> <\/em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.indiebound.org\/book\/9780374347468\">Busy-Busy Little Chick<\/a><\/strong><em><br \/>(Farrar, Straus and Giroux, February 2013)<\/em><br \/>(Click to enlarge image)<\/center><br \/>\n<BR>&nbsp;<BR><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blaine.org\/jules\/thedarkcover1.jpg\">If you follow picture books closely, you know there&#8217;s been a lot of talk lately about this book, pictured left, by <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lemonysnicket.com\/\">Lemony Snicket<\/a><\/strong> and illustrated by <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blaine.org\/sevenimpossiblethings\/?p=2189\">Jon Klassen<\/a><\/strong>. <strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.indiebound.org\/book\/9780316187480\">The Dark<\/a><\/em><\/strong> will be released by Little, Brown next week, and I read an early copy a while ago. <\/p>\n<p>And I really like it. <\/p>\n<p>I wanted to write about it for <em>Kirkus<\/em> this week, yet I wanted to do something <em>different<\/em>. There have been already a handful of reviews of the book, and I wasn&#8217;t in the mood to hear myself yap about it.  <\/p>\n<p>I started thinking about what it must have been like to work as the editor on this story, so I contacted Susan Rich, the Little, Brown editor who worked on this one. My column this week is a Q&#038;A with her, and it is <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kirkusreviews.com\/features\/plunging-dark-suan-rich\/\">here<\/a><\/strong> today. <\/p>\n<p>I thank Susan for taking the time to chat with me about it, and next week I&#8217;ll have a bit more art from the book here at 7-Imp. <\/p>\n<p><center>* * *<\/center><\/p>\n<p>Last Thursday at <em>Kirkus<\/em>, I chatted with illustrator <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.brianpinkney.net\/\">Brian Pinkney<\/a><\/strong> and author <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.janiceharrington.com\/\">Janice N. Harrington<\/a><\/strong>, pictured below, about <em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.indiebound.org\/book\/9780374347468\">Busy-Busy Little Chick<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, their new collaboration from Farrar, Straus and Giroux, released in February.
