\nToday over at Kirkus<\/em>, I write about why I’m reading a lot of picture books this summer. (Well, more than I normally do.) That link is here<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Last week<\/a><\/strong>, I wrote about two shy children in two new picture books, Heather Hartt-Sussman’s<\/a><\/strong> Noni Is Nervous<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (Tundra Books, to be released in July), illustrated by Genevi\u00e8ve C\u00f4t\u00e9 (who visited 7-Imp<\/a><\/strong> back in 2011), as well as Eileen Spinelli’s<\/a><\/strong> When No One Is Watching<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (Eerdmans Books for Young Readers, February 2013), illustrated by David A. Johnson<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Today, I have art from both books, as well as some sketches from Genevi\u00e8ve. David also shares some images (very bottom of the post) from a recent project, called King John<\/em>. (I believe it’s from A.A. Milne’s “King John’s Christmas.”<\/a><\/strong>)<\/p>\n
