Last week at Kirkus<\/em>, I wrote about Bruce Eric Kaplan’s<\/a><\/strong> Cousin Irv from Mars<\/em> (Simon & Schuster, June 2013). This book makes me laugh, and I say much more about it at that Kirkus<\/em> link, which is here<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Today, I’ve got some art from the book. <\/p>\n

I wrote here<\/a><\/strong> (back in 2010) about Kaplan’s last picture book, Monsters Eat Whiny Children<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (also Simon & Schuster, 2010), also wonderfully demented and funny. <\/p>\n

I’m glad he makes picture books. <\/p>\n

I know this is, quite possibly, the shortest kicks post ever, but my kicks ONE<\/strong><\/font> to SEVEN<\/strong><\/font> today are that the grad course I taught this summer (on picture books) is complete, and I really enjoyed the course and the students. <\/p>\n

And the reason this post is so short is ’cause I gotta get back to grading papers!<\/p>\n
