I’ve got some art from Eric Carle<\/a><\/strong> to brighten your Sunday morning. <\/p>\n

Recently, my review of Eric’s newest picture book, Friends<\/a><\/em><\/strong> (Philomel), was posted at BookPage<\/em>. As I understand it, it’s slated for a November release. The review—and more about the book—is here<\/a><\/strong>, and I’m following up today with some illustrations from it. <\/p>\n

You’ll have to forgive the brevity of my kicks here—-rather, the lack thereof—but … well, let’s say my one giant kick is that my youngest daughter is celebrating her birthday with three friends here for a sleep-over. That’s a good kick, indeed. But that means that there’s very little quiet as I type this. Five girls, including my own two, in one tiny house makes for a loud evening, though they’re having lots of fun. Will you forgive me if, instead of listing seven separate kicks, I go make myself a drink? They’re all behaving well and having a smashing time, but you know, I could use a margarita right about now. <\/p>\n
