I&#8217;ve enjoyed her books over the years, and her newest, <em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.indiebound.org\/book\/9780763666330\">The Promise<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, illustrated by <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/lauracarlin.blogspot.com\/\">Laura Carlin<\/a><\/strong>, will be out from Candlewick in early March. This one isn&#8217;t nonfiction; it&#8217;s actually an adaptation of a short story, and it&#8217;s Carlin&#8217;s debut picture book.
