Walker<\/a><\/strong>. Her newest picture book is <em>Winnie: The True Story of the Bear Who Inspired Winnie-the-Pooh<\/em> (Henry Holt, January 2015), illustrated by newcomer <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jonathandvoss.com\/\">Jonathan D. Voss<\/a><\/strong>. It&#8217;s a fascinating story and one I didn&#8217;t know. <\/p>\n<p>Our Q&#038;A is over <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/bookpage.com\/interviews\/17724-sally-m-walker#.VMcAF_7F98E\">here<\/a><\/strong> at <em>BookPage<\/em>, and below I have some art (and backmatter images) from the book. <\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blaine.org\/7pics\/2015\/01\/WINNIE Spread 1leftuse.jpg\"><br \/>\n<center><em>&#8220;When Harry Colebourn looked out of the train window,<br \/>he couldn&#8217;t believe what he saw &#8230;.&#8221;<\/em><\/center><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blaine.org\/7pics\/2015\/01\/WINNIE spread 2left.jpg\"><br \/>\n<center><em>&#8220;&#8230; The cub climbed into Harry&#8217;s lap and licked his chin.<br \/>&#8216;She&#8217;s for sale,&#8217; said the man holding her leash. &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/center><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blaine.org\/7pics\/2015\/01\/WINNIE spread 2right.jpg\"><br \/>\n<center><em>&#8220;Harry could care for a bear; he was a veterinarian.<br \/>&#8216;How much?&#8217; Harry asked. &#8230;&#8221;<\/em><\/center><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blaine.org\/7pics\/2015\/01\/WINNIE spread 3left1.jpg\"><br \/>\n<img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blaine.org\/7pics\/2015\/01\/WINNIE spread 3left2.jpg\"><br \/>\n<center><em>&#8220;Sometimes Harry went places where Winnie couldn&#8217;t. The other soldiers cub-sat.<br \/>They photographed Winnie.
