\nThis morning over at Kirkus<\/em>, I take a look at Pamela Zagarenski’s The Whisper<\/em>. That link is here<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Last week, I wrote here<\/a><\/strong> about new picture books that feature the happy return of some beloved picture book protagonists, including Stephen Savage’s<\/a><\/strong> Where’s Walrus? And Penguin?<\/em> (Scholastic, August 2015); Atinuke’s<\/a><\/strong> Double Trouble for Anna Hibiscus!<\/em>, illustrated by Lauren Tobia<\/a><\/strong> and whose cover is pictured here (Kane Miller, September 2015); and Emily Jenkins’<\/a><\/strong> Toys Meet Snow<\/em>, illustrated by Paul O. Zelinsky<\/a><\/strong> (Schwartz & Wade, September 2015). <\/p>\n

I’ve got a bit of art from each today. Zelinsky shares some early sketches and cover sketches as well. <\/p>\n

Also, since we’re on the subject of Lauren Tobia’s artwork, I’m adding in a couple of spreads from Fran Manushkin’s<\/a><\/strong> Happy in Our Skin<\/a><\/strong><\/em>, published by Candlewick last month. <\/p>\n
