I’m typing this on Wednesday night, since I’m hoppin’ on a plane tomorrow to head to the MLA 2016 Convention<\/a><\/strong> in Austin, Texas. I’ll present on a panel discussion on Friday about children’s literature with Marah Gubar<\/a><\/strong> from MIT; author and illustrator Don Tate<\/a><\/strong>; Ebony Elizabeth Thomas<\/a><\/strong> from the University of Pennsylvania; and Philip Nel<\/a><\/strong> from Kansas State University. <\/p>\n

I’ve never been to an MLA convention before, nor have I ever visited Austin. I’m looking forward to all the learning, some live music, making new friends, and seeing some long-time ones. <\/p>\n
