“<\/strong><\/font>I was lucky enough to have Raymond Briggs as one of my tutors at Art College. I think he has inspired me more than anyone. As a tutor, he was always very positive and encouraging. Initially, I had a very small and clich\u00e9d idea of what a children\u2019s picture book should be. Raymond\u2019s work made me realize the potential of a picture book — that its boundaries and possibilities are wide and exciting and, mostly, that I\u2019m only limited by my imagination.\u201d<\/font><\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

Over at Kirkus<\/em> today, I talk to Australian author-illustrator Jeannie Baker<\/a><\/strong>, pictured here, about her newest picture book, Circle<\/em> (Candlewick, May 2016). <\/p>\n
