\nToday over at Kirkus<\/em>, I look at Can One Balloon Make an Elephant Fly?<\/em> (coming to shelves in August from Simon & Schuster) in which Dan Richards<\/a><\/strong> and Jeff Newman<\/a><\/strong> explore what it looks like to a child when a parent stares into a cell phone. But mostly they tell an entertaining story. With floating elephants.<\/p>\n

Last week I wrote here<\/a><\/strong> about Salina Yoon’s<\/a><\/strong> Duck, Duck, Porcupine!<\/em> (Bloomsbury, May 2016); Toni Yuly’s<\/a><\/strong> Cat Nap<\/em> (Feiwel & Friends, January 2016); and Marilyn Singer’s<\/a><\/strong> What’s an Apple?<\/em> and What’s a Banana?<\/em>, both illustrated by Greg Pizzoli<\/a><\/strong> and coming to shelves in August from Abrams. <\/p>\n

I’ve got art from each book below, and Greg also shares some early character sketches and such. <\/p>\n
