Last week, I wrote here<\/a><\/strong> about some good new back-to-school picture books, including Kate Berube’s<\/a><\/strong> Mae’s First Day of School<\/em> (Abrams, July 2018); Antoinette Portis’s<\/a><\/strong> Best Frints at Skrool<\/em> (Neal Porter\/Roaring Brook, June 2018); Liz Garton Scanlon’s<\/a><\/strong> and Audrey Vernick’s<\/a><\/strong> Dear Substitute<\/em> (Disney-Hyperion, June 2018), illustrated by Chris Raschka<\/a><\/strong>; Ryan T. Higgins’s<\/a><\/strong> We Don’t Eat Our Classmates<\/em> (Disney-Hyperion, June 2018); and Rafael L\u00f3pez’s<\/a><\/strong> We’ve Got the Whole World in Our Hands<\/em> (Orchard\/Scholastic, October 2018). <\/p>\n
