\nI have a review over at BookPage<\/em> of one of my very favorite picture books this year, one that is especially perfect for preschool-aged readers. It’s John Sullivan’s Kitten and the Night Watchman<\/em> (Paula Wiseman Books \/ Simon & Schuster, September 2018), illustrated by Taeeun Yoo<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n

3)<\/strong><\/font> NPR announced their best 100 songs of 2018, and I love their first choice<\/a><\/strong>. There can be no other first choice. And I love how Rodney Carmichael writes about it in that link. <\/p>\n

4)<\/strong><\/font> Lucy Dacus’s “Night Shift”<\/a><\/strong> (speaking of songs). <\/p>\n

5)<\/strong><\/font> And Cat Powers’s “In Your Face”<\/a><\/strong> (speaking of songs again). <\/p>\n

6)<\/strong><\/font> My family and I have been bingeing Brooklyn Nine-Nine<\/em> all year on Hulu. It very quickly became a favorite. (We are nearly done with all the seasons that exist and eagerly await the new season premiere this coming January.) Just the other night, I saw the episode that shows us how Captain Holt texts, and I have never in my life on this good green earth seen anything funnier.
