He talks to me about his newest picture book \u2014 <em>The King of Kindergarten<\/em> (Nancy Paulsen Books, July 2019), illustrated by <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/painted-words.com\/portfolio\/vanessa-brantley-newton\/\">Vanessa Brantley-Newton<\/a><\/strong> \u2014 as well as the success of last year&#8217;s award-winning <strong><em><a href=\"http:\/\/blaine.org\/sevenimpossiblethings\/?p=4483\">Crown<\/a><\/em><\/strong>.
