\nHello, imps! I don’t have a picture book for you today, but I do have this lovely piece of art from author-illustrator Dasha Tolstikova<\/a><\/strong>. She made this in honor of St. Lucia’s Day<\/a><\/strong>, a Scandinavian holiday celebrated this past Friday. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I love to see Dasha’s work. (Here<\/a><\/strong> is her 2016 7-Imp visit, and here<\/a><\/strong> was her very first visit back in 2013.) And her site<\/a><\/strong> says that she is currently working on her debut as a picture book author, a book called The Bad Chair<\/em>, which will publish next year. This is definitely something I look forward to in 2020. <\/p>\n

I’m going to keep things short this week, because Christmas shopping looms large in my weekend. <\/p>\n

My kicks, one to seven, are that I was asked to chair the 2020 Boston Globe-Horn Book Awards<\/a><\/strong>. I’ll be working with two other judges to determine the winners for the 2020 awards. I’m very excited. There is a lot of reading ahead of me, and I’m really looking forward to it! <\/p>\n
