\nKnow one reason I appreciate the picture books in this BookPage<\/em> picture book round-up<\/a><\/strong> I wrote? They are books about snow, and at this point, snow is something I can only dream of here in Tennessee. (It’s a record-breaking 70 degrees outside as I type.) Okay, we did<\/em> have some flurries before the holidays. Just a bit. For that, I’m grateful. I hope we see some more. <\/p>\n

The picture book round-up includes Ellen Yeomans\u2019 Some Snow Is …<\/em>, illustrated by Andrea Offerman<\/a><\/strong>; Snowy Race<\/em>, written by April Jones Prince<\/a><\/strong> and illustrated by Christine Davenier<\/a><\/strong>; and Gary D. Schmidt’s<\/a><\/strong> and Elizabeth Stickney’s Almost Time<\/em> (pictured above), illustrated by G. Brian Karas<\/a><\/strong>. Again, that is here<\/a><\/strong> if you’d like to read more about these books. 1)<\/strong><\/font> The better half and I celebrated our 20th weddding anniversary this week. <\/p>\n 2)<\/strong><\/font> Reading Thanhha Lai’s<\/a><\/strong> Butterfly Yellow<\/a><\/strong><\/em> aloud to my daughters. <\/p>\n 3)<\/strong><\/font> Friends for brunch. <\/p>\n 4)<\/strong><\/font> Good book conversations. <\/p>\n 5)<\/strong><\/font> Frances Quinlan’s<\/a><\/strong> “Rare Thing” (which, incidentally, she wrote about a child).
