I do love her work, and she has illustrated another new book. This one, <em><em>The Nest That Wren Built<\/em><\/em> (Candlewick, March 2020), is by <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.randisonenshine.com\/home.html\">Randi Sonenshine<\/a><\/strong>. New kickers are always welcome.<\/p>\n<p><center><font size=3><strong>* * * Jules&#8217; Kicks * * *<\/strong><\/font><br \/><\/center><\/p>\n<p><font size=4><strong>1)<\/strong><\/font> We threw a surprise party this week for my oldest daughter, who turned 16. (Yes, in the name of virus precautions, I dutifully cleaned the house before and after.) <em>We managed to pull it off!<\/em> It&#8217;s been several weeks in the making. And it was a happy memory we made. <\/p>\n<p><font size=4><strong>2)<\/strong><\/font> We had amazing cupcakes. <\/p>\n<p><font size=4><strong>3)<\/strong><\/font> The <em>very next day<\/em> (my, the news changes so rapidly these days) I read that we should all be self-quarantining to the point of Not Even Really Hanging Out With Our Friends (#stayhome and &#8220;this is not a snow day&#8221; and etc. etc.). Sooooo &#8230; I guess I had that party just in time? (We are all just winging it, aren&#8217;t we. May everyone stay healthy. All of you reading this and everyone else too.)  <\/p>\n<p><font size=4><strong>4)<\/strong><\/font> In the midst of all of the virus precautions taking place, I&#8217;ve been amazed and impressed by the responses I&#8217;ve seen online from teachers and librarians, concerned for the students and patrons they regularly see (and vice versa \u2014 that is, students concerned for their educators).  <\/p>\n<p><font size=4><strong>5)<\/strong><\/font> Finally saw <strong><em><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Yesterday_(2019_film)\">Yesterday<\/a><\/em><\/strong>. Hey, Dude. <\/p>\n<p><font size=4><strong>6)<\/strong><\/font> Finally saw <em><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Parasite_(2019_film)\">Parasite<\/a><\/strong><\/em>. <\/p>\n<p><font size=4><strong>7)<\/strong><\/font> Making it work. <\/p>\n<p>Now is an especially good time for kicks, you all, isn&#8217;t it?
