This snowflake is based on one of Yuyi&#8217;s new picture books, <em><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blaine.org\/sevenimpossiblethings\/?p=849\">Little Night<\/a><\/strong><\/em> (<strong><a href=\"http:\/\/us.macmillan.com\/splash\/publishers\/roaring-brook-press.html\">Roaring Brook Press<\/a><\/strong>; April 2007), which I raved about back in August <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blaine.org\/sevenimpossiblethings\/?p=849\">here<\/a><\/strong> at 7-Imp (the illustrations are beautiful). <\/p>\n<p>We will be featuring Yuyi and some of her illustrations on a Sunday kicks list at the end of November. We can&#8217;t wait to see what she sends us. We&#8217;re big &#8216;ol fans. <\/p>\n<p>Yuyi&#8217;s snowflake will be auctioned off in Auction 1, which will begin accepting bids on Monday, November 19, at 9:00 a.m. Be sure to place your bid before the close of Auction 1 on Friday, November 23 at 5:00 p.m. <\/p>\n<p>Apparently, you can twist this snowflake and watch Little Night herself glow. Wow. I wish I had time to point out some highlights from all of them, as I enjoyed reading each one. Tricia gave <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/missrumphiuseffect.blogspot.com\/2007\/10\/roberts-snow-illustrator-mark-teague.html\">her feature about Mark Teague<\/a><\/strong> quite the entertaining twist (she gets an A+++). Christopher Demarest&#8217;s snowflake, which you can read about <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/kellyrfineman.livejournal.com\/245844.html?view=1862740\">here<\/a><\/strong> at <em>Writing and Ruminating<\/em>, is actually a beautiful sculpture piece.
