I&#8217;m not terribly familiar with her work, but you can see some of it here at the artists&#8217; agency, <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.studiogoodwinsturges.com\/\">Studio Goodwin Sturges<\/a><\/strong> (click on &#8220;artists &#038; authors&#8221;). And I <em>have<\/em> seen and enjoyed 2002&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/All-Aboard-Mary-Lyn-Ray\/dp\/0316735078\/ref=sr_1_4\/104-8884497-4798331?ie=UTF8&#038;s=books&#038;qid=1193339611&#038;sr=8-4\"><strong><em>All Aboard!<\/em><\/strong><\/a> (Little, Brown &#038; Company), illustrated by Hirao and written by Mary Lynn Ray. She also illustrated 2002&#8217;s <em><a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Fisherman-Tricked-Genie-Christopher-Sunami\/dp\/0689833997\/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1\/104-8884497-4798331?ie=UTF8&#038;s=books&#038;qid=1193340201&#038;sr=8-1\"><strong>How the Fisherman Tricked the Genie: A Tale Within a Tale Within a Tale<\/strong><\/a><\/em> (Atheneum) by <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/kitoba.com\/pedia\/Christopher+Sunami.html\">Christopher &#8220;Kitoba&#8221; Sunami<\/a><\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blaine.org\/jules\/tulip.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blaine.org\/jules\/just what mama needs1.JPG\">This year, her illu-<br \/>strated <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Tulip-at-Bat-Patrick-Lewis\/dp\/0316612804\/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1\/104-8884497-4798331?ie=UTF8&#038;s=books&#038;qid=1193340519&#038;sr=8-1\"><em><strong>Tulip at the Bat<\/strong><\/em><\/a> by children&#8217;s poet and author <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.jpatricklewis.com\/\">J. Patrick Lewis<\/a><\/strong> was released in April by Little, Brown Young Readers, and next year we will see <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Just-Needs-Sharlee-Mullins-Glenn\/dp\/0152057595\/ref=sr_1_1\/104-8884497-4798331?ie=UTF8&#038;s=books&#038;qid=1193340702&#038;sr=1-1\"><em><strong>Just What Mama Needs<\/strong><\/em><\/a> (Harcourt) by <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.sharleeglenn.com\/\">Sharlee Glenn<\/a><\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>Again, I&#8217;ve only seen <em>All Aboard!<\/em> (and enjoyed it), but, hey . . . Jackie is smitten, and so are many of us who read that feature. I mean, <em>she&#8217;s eating a picture book<\/em>. Can she be my new friend? You see, I understand this urge . . . And did you see <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.myspace.com\/index.cfm?fuseaction=blog.view&#038;friendID=134853404&#038;blogID=322301167\">Margaret Chodos-Irvine&#8217;s sunflake<\/a><\/strong>, &#8220;To Be Like the Sun&#8221;?
