Well, Now. This is a Great Way to Start the Week …

I would just like to take a moment, quickly, to squeal over the fact that there’s a new picture book illustrated by Pamela Zagarenski coming out next month, written by Mary Logue (published by Houghton Mifflin). I haven’t read this book yet. It’s not even in my hands at this time (though I see it’s gotten a starred review from Kirkus). But Pamela’s art is such that I get excited by merely the cover alone.

And I just found this out, so I’m squealing publicly.

More on the book soon, I’m sure—OF COURSE I’m going to try to find a copy, by hook or by crook—but I just wanted to share the cover.

Okay, squeal over now. Let us carry on with our day.

  1. Oh my goodness!! THat is a BEAUTIFUL cover, how have I never heard of her?? What other books has she done? Do you have one you recommend me starting out with, maybe your favorite of hers?

  2. Oh, I lied haha, I have read Red sings from the treetops, now I have to find more of her books because I loved that last year but somehow didn’t look into her more! Your squealing in public over this cover is totally justified because it’s just so beautiful that I have to say it again 🙂

  3. Can’t wait to see this. You should NEVER hesitate to squeal or shout or dance or sing about any art you love – wonderful for you and wonderful for us!!!

  4. You know what I’m going to say: I want a tiger.

  5. When I first read the illustrator’s name I thought, “oooh, isn’t she the one who did Red Sings From Treetops?” and I so love that book. And now I have another to hunt down. Plus, I have this thing about bunting … Thanks for the heads up.

  6. Looking forward to seeing it! I had no idea it was coming out. Sometimes I’m slow.
