Well, That Was Fun . . .

It was fun to be a guest on a podcast whose episodes I never ever miss. That would be the Horn Book’s (relatively new) podcast.

Thanks to Roger and Siân for having me when I was in Boston last week. You can click on the image above to hear our chat, if you’re so inclined.

  1. YAY! Bookmarking to listen to this week! 🙂

  2. Finally got to listening to this — a really interesting conversation about blogging. One question-discussion that Roger had that he seemed to struggle with that you didn’t was being “nice” to an author and/or championing them because you have a “relationship” with them because you positively identified one of their books as a good thing.

One thing I like about what you do here is that I think you divide the author from the project, which enables you to talk about the project in a different way than a lot of other blogs. You take each project, each book, and talk about the illustrator and author right then — and if their NEXT thing is awesome, you remind us who they are and what else they’ve done that you’ve enjoyed, and you move us forward WITH the illustrator or author’s career and process. I love that, and that’s why you’re so valuable to authors and illustrators and people who want to explore and enjoy picture book art. So, thanks for that!

  3. Thanks, Tanita. Good to read!
