Over at BookPage, I’ve got a review of Emily Gravett’s Tidy ((Simon & Schuster, March 2017).

That review is here, and I’m following up today with a few spreads from the book.

Note for any new readers: 7-Imp’s 7 Kicks is a weekly meeting ground for taking some time to reflect on Seven(ish) Exceptionally Fabulous, Beautiful, Interesting, Hilarious, or Otherwise Positive Noteworthy Things from the past week, whether book-related or not, that happened to you. New kickers are always welcome.

I’m taking some time off this week — from work and blogging, that is, though there will actually still be 7-Imp content up all week. ‘Cause I’m a nerd like that.

My kicks are that I’ll be relaxing with my family. Do tell:

What are YOUR kicks this week?

  1. Good morning, Imps! Good morning, Emily! This is a fly-by en route to an audition. Have a fantastic day!

  2. I love the rhyming and rhythm of this book as well as the art work. I bet it’s fun to read aloud.
Jules, enjoy you break. Is it spring break?
    My kicks:
    1. Finished BORN TO RUN by Bruce Sringsteen. Fun read as I have cousins who live on the Jersey Shore and could relate to places mentioned.
    2. Listening to Leah Remini’s TROUBLEMAKER. Very interesting.
    3. Poetry postcards are ready to be illustrated.
    4. Co-planning with the music teacher a recital at Barnes and Noble of music and poetry.
    5. Thinking about a possible summer trip.
    6. Morning songs of birds.
    7. The Oregon Ducks beat Kansas. Gonzaga beat Xavier. Two ONE team’s in the final four. I am not a big basketball fan but am excited to be represented.
    Have a great week.

  3. Tidy looks like a very neat book! (Sorry, yes, bad pun-intended.)

Jules – hope you have a great week!

    LW: break a leg!

Jone: My bracket is busted. Hooray for poetry postcards and good autobiographies.

    My quick kicks:
    1) Ending a work day with a quick HH wine-tasting with a colleague.
    2) A softball double-header in the rain Friday night.
    3) Brief moments of sun in between the endless rain.
    4) Sunday mornings.
    5) Coffee
    6) Group texts with friends scattered across the country.
    7) Luck.
7.5) Daisy and her sweet silly self.

    Have a wonderful week!

  4. Little Willow: Break a leg, as always!

Jone: Yes, Spring Break! And my first time in California.

Rachel: Softball in the rain with friends sounds fun. Hugs to Daisy. Always.

  5. LW: Hope audition went well.
    Rachel: Love the sunbeams.
    Jules: SoCal or Nothern?

  6. SoCal!
