7-Imp’s 7 Kicks #536: Featuring Isabelle Arsenault

h1 May 28th, 2017 by jules

I’ve got a BookPage review of Isabelle Arsenault’s newest picture book, one she both wrote and illustrated. Colette’s Lost Pet was just released (Random House); my review is here over at BookPage; and I’m following up with some art from the book here at 7-Imp today, thanks to Isabelle.

Enjoy!

  2. Good morning, Imps!

Hello, Isabelle! To no one’s surprise, that black cat is my favorite part of the illustrations. I hope all of the pets find their way home.

Jules: Two paws up for that movie trailer. I’d watch it. 😉 Love the real cat cameo!

Jone: Wishing for peace and safety for everyone. Enjoy your writing time.

  3. Really love the style and color palette of the illustrations in Colette’s Lost Pet.

Jules – that cat movie trailer is spectacular! Your budding filmmaker might be interested in checking out the projects at hitrecord.org they often ask for submissions or re-edits of pieces, and fun and whimsy are highly encouraged.

Jone – Friday’s violence here in Portland was a horrible thing, but the heroes, and the community’s response to the tragedy give me hope. Enjoy the lovely weather and your writing time.

LW – I really love all your kicks, but especially kicks 1 and 7 the best. Hope you have a restful weekend.

    My kicks:
    1) This morning’s long walk with Daisy.
    2) Morning gym time.
    3) Currently reading Lean In.

    6) Making plans to see Wonder Woman next week with a group of friends.
    7) My good luck – this time I won 2 tickets to see the band Los Colognes live at Doug Fir last Wednesday. They were good and it was a fun night.

Have a safe and happy Memorial Day weekend Imps!

  4. Jone, I’ll have to look for those poems. Enjoy your time off, revising! Like Little Willow, I wish peace and safety and comfort for your city.

Little Willow, I’m glad rest and recovery are hand in hand. I hope you weren’t ill.

Rachel: I’ll have to look up Los Colognes’ music. And you’ll have to let us know how Wonder Woman is. I’m intrigued! Hugs to Daisy, as always.
