The Big Awards

Short, quickie announcement: ALA has announced The Big Award Winners. I’m particularly thrilled to see Sonya Hartnett’s Surrender get a Printz Honor. And Eisha’s beloved Kadir Nelson has been honored as well. Oh and James Marshall is the recipient of the Wilder Award for his lasting contribution to children’s literature. YES! YES! The Stupids somewhere are cheering. Go here to read about all the winners.

And I am happy to see American Born Chinese win the Printz – it is seriously good.

I was also pleased to see American Born Chinese win – although Octavian was my favorite. I’m glad to hear good things about Surrender – it’s the only Printz winner I wasn’t familiar with.
Very concise offering today. Especially love the “And, scene.”
Now I feel a little silly for my four, yes four, posts about the awards. I am a Newbery nerd. (On the plus side, I did link to John Green’s video of his Printz honor book win.)
