“They eat their bedtime snacks and do crossword puzzles. ‘Time for bed, off you go!’
says Bo. ‘I DON’T WANT TO!’ says Koko. ‘Stay here then,’ says Bo.”

Today at Kirkus, I’ve got mamas on the mind.

That is here.

Last week, I wrote here about a Swedish picture book import, Lisen Adbåge’s Koko and Bo (Enchanted Lion, April 2018).

I’m following up with some art from the book today.

Enjoy!

“Koko and Bo are at the playground. They have been there for four hours.
‘Time to go home!’ says Bo. ‘I DON’T WANT TO!’ says Koko. ‘Don’t then,’ says Bo.”

“It is dark by the time the doorbell rings. It is Koko.
Koko wants to come in. It was boring staying out alone.
‘Do you want a sandwich?’ asks Bo.”

“Koko stays in the kitchen stubbornly for 15 whole minutes. Bo has fallen right to sleep and is snoring loudly. It sounds cozy. Koko tiptoes in and snuggles into bed next to Bo. ‘Goodnight little Koko,’ whispers Bo.”
