“‘Climb on,’ said the lion in a deep, gentle voice. …”

In yesterday’s post, I mentioned this BookPage feature about, in part, David Zeltser’s The Night Library (Random House, April 2019), illustrated by Raúl Colón.

Here today is a bit of art from the book.

“It was the night before my eighth birthday,
and I was having trouble falling asleep. …”

” … Then I climbed onto Patience’s back, and we headed home.”

  1. Ooh, this looks just lovely. As a current insomniac, having Patience and Fortitude to lie upon – who will find me the best books or just help me sleep – seems a good option. I also like that this is a turnabout book about grief – without naming it, exactly, but still defeating it.

  2. It’s an honor to see my book on one of my favorite blogs. And you picked some of my favorites of Raul’s brilliant illustrations. Thanks for not giving away the surprise ending 😉
