I’ve a review over at BookPage of Kwame Alexander’s How to Read a Book (Harper, June 2019), illustrated by Melissa Sweet. That review is here, and today at 7-Imp I’ve some art from the book. Melissa also shares some process images, for which I thank her.

Enjoy!

  1. Thank you, Jules! It’s always a treat to be a part of 7-imp. Melissa

  2. Wooooooooooooooooooow.
The artwork is just INTENSE here, and making it looked like it took a lot of …tilting the head sideways and figuring out how to make words dance and shimmy along the page. This is wonderful combination of poet & illustrator.
