Bread Head

I’ve got a review over at BookPage of Mo Willems’ Nanette’s Baguette (Hyperion, October 2016). That review is here, and pictured here at 7-Imp today are some illustrations from the book.

I may have, once or twice, reacted over bread this way myself, because … mmm. Bread.

“NANETTE! Today is a day Nanette won’t soon forget. Today, in the kitchenette,
Mom tells Nanette that Nanette gets to get the baguette!”

One comment to “Bread Head”

  1. Here we see the influences of Mo’s travels to Fraaaaance. What a delight to see this book here. It makes me feel all rhymy:

here comes janette ( a pal of nanette)
with a dog she just met
in the mouth of her pet is a lovely baguette
    just slober, not sweat
    on the baguette
    “don’t do det!”
    frets nanette
    “it will get wet!”
“set the baguette on the welcome met
    dry with a towel
    or something like det”
but alas the new pet must go to the vet
    perhaps with a jet

    his throat shows the silhouette
    of the former baguette
he might choke or get fet
    what about thet
