Bread Head

I’ve got a review over at BookPage of Mo Willems’ Nanette’s Baguette (Hyperion, October 2016). That review is here, and pictured here at 7-Imp today are some illustrations from the book.
I may have, once or twice, reacted over bread this way myself, because … mmm. Bread.

Here we see the influences of Mo’s travels to Fraaaaance. What a delight to see this book here. It makes me feel all rhymy:
here comes janette ( a pal of nanette)
with a dog she just met
in the mouth of her pet is a lovely baguette
just slober, not sweat
on the baguette
“don’t do det!”
frets nanette
“it will get wet!”
“set the baguette on the welcome met
dry with a towel
or something like det”
but alas the new pet must go to the vet
perhaps with a jet
his throat shows the silhouette
of the former baguette
he might choke or get fet
