Over at Kirkus today, I’ve a chat with author-illustrator Carin Berger about the Pen and Ink Brigade and their new initiative, the Blue Wave Project.

That is here.

Last week, I wrote here about Marianne Dubuc’s Up the Mountain Path (Princeton Architectural Press, October 2018); Oge Mora’s Thank You, Omu! (Little, Brown, October 2018); and Ross Watkins’s Dad’s Camera (Candlewick, October 2018), illustrated by Liz Anelli.

I’m following up with art from each book today.

Enjoy!

From Dad’s Camera:

“He said nothing about it, though. He just took the camera from its box, put it to his eye, and walked into his study. My study is my brain, he always said. Dad had his ways.”

“We took out the camera, walked into his study, and placed it on his desk. He should be here, Mom said. But then, by the afternoon light of the window, in the space he left behind, we noticed that there was still film inside the camera.”

  1. I so love Omu’s cheeks. The landscape of the mountain is just… gorgeous. I can truly imagine the vistas in coffee table book form. Really some pretty illustration – and this is why picture books are a whole-family experience!
