  1. Go, Eisha, go!

  2. Ironside isn’t available at the library yet, and all but one of the books that came in for me today are picture books. “Why are you here now?” I asked them. “I’m not allowed to read you this weekend!”

Your post brought to mind the talking Barbie debacle in the early 1990s when she dared to say, “Math is hard!”

  3. J, thanks for the support.

LW, if you read and liked Tithe and Valiant, you MUST read Ironside. And did that Barbie thing really happen? I remember it, but in a surreal way like it was a SNL skit or something. Yikes.

But seriously, math IS hard. It took me, like, 10 minutes to figure out how far into my 48 hours I was.

  4. yup, i think that Barbie really existed. and, in looking it up online (’cause you got me curious, Eisha), i found this, in which a covert group (the Barbie Liberation Organization) purchased some Teen Talk Barbies and G.I. Joes, performed “surgery,” made the Barbies say things like “vengeance is mine!” and G.I. Joe say things like “let’s plan our dream wedding!”, and then returned them to the store.

    i’m laughing so hard.

  5. Oh, man, I can’t believe that really happened.
